HABA focuses on protecting natural resources, both in the selection of materials and in the production processes used. One proof of this is the PEFC seal. HABA has been using this seal to label its wooden toys since 2010. The beech and birch wood used comes from sustainable forestry. In this way, HABA supports the preservation of the ecological balance in the forests and makes a contribution to sustainably improving forest use and forest care.
In addition, the general conditions for production are continuously optimized and environmentally friendly processes and improved technologies are used. The amount of material used and the amount of emissions and waste are continuously determined. Modern energy management is just as natural as the further development of machines and buildings from an ecological perspective. HABA was the first German toy manufacturer to pass the eco-audit in 1999 and has since then relied on continuous environmental management in accordance with DIN ISO 14001.
